Read MoreMom Guilt Almost Made me Cancel my Flight
No one ever told me that taking time for yourself, practicing self-care or living your best life came hand in hand with “Mom Guilt”. That feeling when you finally get a chance to yourself but you start to feel tremendous guilt for leaving your kids.

Fall is when I bake the most. So bear with me as I crank out pies, cookies, bread, and other baked goodies in an attempt to perfect each one.
Here I share a banana bread recipe that I’ve been working on. It’s not a typical banana bread recipe, and definitely not your mama’s. This one, in particular, is bourbon-spiced and everything nice!

Halloween is right around the corner, and I’ve got to say that this is probably my favorite holiday! Now that I’ve got my little family, I love thinking of ways to create family costumes. Gone are my days of attempting to be some random “sexy” animal/occupation/food (sexy pizza, anyone?), and I am so freakin’ glad.
Read MoreHow I Chose to Become a Stay at Home Mom
Being a stay at home mom was never part of the plan.
I realized that as much as I loved my job and was proud of the career I built, the truth is I wasn’t changing the world or saving lives. But I did have two little ones’ lives to protect and futures to nourish. I was being given the chance to be with them everyday and to be fully present in their lives when it mattered most. .
Read MoreThe dark elephant in the room
Every now and then, I get a comment or a message from someone commending my parenting skills and how I make it look so easy. I’m not going to lie, it makes me feel happy, proud, and for one fleeting moment, I have this little ego boost. And then I suddenly feel a wave of shame.

Welcome to our blog! We are Janelle and Bianca, two moms just trying to figure it all out while documenting the process. Our blog started out as late night phone calls to one another ranging from normal girl talk to parenting questions (or more specifically “wtf am I doing!?” questions), but our conversations slowly evolved into the idea of creating a blog that practically highlights every topic we’ve ever discussed. I mean, it couldn’t possibly be just the two of us coincidentally going through this journey! So here we are, wanting to share (almost) every tidbit of our lives and hoping to gain some insight from our community of fellow mamas, too.

I have been obsessed with Framebridge’s “Triptych” gallery wall. So as soon as I got our wedding photos I knew that’s how I wanted to showcase them. However after spending so much on the wedding, I was hesitant to pay so much on photo frames. So I challenged myself to try and recreate the same look but for even cheaper.
Read MoreHow to Make Hexagon Shelves
hexagon shelves
A few months ago, a friend of mine sent me a picture of these incredibly cute hexagon shelves she found online. These shelves came with a fat price tag, so she asked if I could make them. I had never made something like this before, but I was intrigued. Hexagons or geometrical shapes seem to be the biggest trend this year! After several calculations (and several trials and errors later), I figured out how to make them at a fraction of the cost. Put them gloves on and start up that saw, ladies, we’re woodworking today!
